Mowlem and Co are located in Jesmond on Clayton Road, we specialise in bespoke kitchen cabinetry and joinery for elsewhere in the home. As we are a fully bespoke company, we have creative freedom to design spaces that are truly made to order for each client and take pride in producing exceptional furniture.

We are looking for an individual with a passion for design and furniture to join our team of experienced designers. At our Jesmond showroom we have a lovely environment to work in and a small but perfectly formed team of people with wide ranging skills. Job Description: Junior Designer – Mowlem and Co, Jesmond Showroom


Role & Candidate

We are looking for someone who is confident, dynamic and willing to learn all aspects of the job. The candidate must be proficient in CAD related software and 3D visuals and to be able to assist the Senior Designers in whichever way possible. You must be able to work both independently and collaboratively and use your initiative for everyday tasks. An eye for design is key, however experience within the industry is not essential.


Responsibilities

  • Create CAD/Vector works plans and elevations for bespoke handmade cabinetry and furniture
    under the direction of a Senior Designer.
  • Assist the Senior Designers on projects & on site.
  • Ability to take site surveys and draw these up on CAD.
  • To create 3D visuals for upcoming projects on Sketch up & Vray. This is something we can train
    on the job if needs be, but an understanding of this would help.
  • Basic admin duties i.e. writing emails & ordering, speaking to clients & answering phones.
  • Eventually learn how to take briefs from clients & present designs etc.

Qualifications

Design related degree. i.e. Interior design or furniture design, or previous industry experience.

Job Type ~ Full-time
Hours ~ Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm
Salary ~ Dependent on experience.
