    A lovely corner of a Mowlem and Co. kitchen in a beautiful Cheshire home, with one of those little details that makes everyday life just that bit easier. On first glance, it’s a beautiful piece of joinery. Look a little closer and there’s more to it. Fluted glass, a considered finish and a pantry tucked neatly behind the door, keeping everything close at hand without interrupting the room. It’s the sort of detail we love exploring in the design process.     We’ll never tire of a kitchen in a rich, deep colour. There’s something about darker cabinetry that brings character and a sense of permanence to a space, whether it’s a period home or something altogether more contemporary. This kitchen, from our Cheshire project, was hand painted in deep navy, with warm brass hardware and a beautiful stone worktop. We truly believe if a colour speaks to you, go with it.     Hawkesbury. And then there’s the detail. 🦌 That kind of special place you’d be in no hurry to leave. Each part in this unique home has its own character, yet the house feels entirely cohesive, wonderfully characterful and richly considered at every turn. Our Chelsea studio team worked alongside @hamilford_design to create the bespoke kitchen. So we were especially delighted to see Hamilford taking home a much coveted @designetal award for the project. A much-deserved achievement and, as always, a privilege to be part of.     Hawkesbury. A first look. There’s something incredibly emotive about a barn, the sense of scale, the rawness of the materials and the way it organically draws people together. Created for @hamilford_design The Barn, our Hawkesbury bespoke kitchen is a study in considered design. A richly layered scheme of antique copper metal, reclaimed timber, deep, textured cabinetry, striking veined stone and a series of finer details. The design is, however, deliberately confident, allowing the materials and craftsmanship to speak for themselves.     For those who take a quiet pleasure in having everything in its place (and who doesn’t?). A beautifully designed cupboard does rather make being organised feel like less of a chore. And what a joy to have all those everyday jobs contained within one dedicated space.     There’s something about a kitchen that draws everyone in. Someone cooking, someone opening a bottle, children coming in for something they’ve forgotten, and before you know it, everyone is gathered around the island. Perhaps that’s the real joy of a kitchen. It’s not just the room you cook in, it’s where people naturally end up. The chatting, the cooking, the company, and all the lovely bits in between.     That lovely little pause before September begins… A bank holiday weekend stretching out ahead of us, with nowhere much to be and plenty of time to enjoy home.     Is there anything more satisfying than a beautifully organised pantry? We think not. Whether you like everything neatly tucked away, a freestanding larder or walk-in, prefer your shelves on show, or have a very particular way of storing things (we all do), good storage makes a kitchen work so much harder. And it doesn’t have to look purely practical. We design every detail around the way you live, the space you have and your unique style. It’s also genuinely one of our favourite spaces to design.     Strong stone. Serious detail. The starting point here was the marble, dramatic, directional, and oh so beautiful. From there, everything else was deliberately softened: ivory cabinetry, curved seating, aged brass and that beautiful sculptural glass light overhead. The result is layered, considered, and elegant, with each element bringing something different to the space.     Our Soho kitchen in Jesmond is a real favourite with everyone who sees it. It’s the combination of elements that makes this one so good. Warm oak cabinetry with those lovely integrated handles, exposed brick and a seriously beautiful green marble island, finished with brick-red tiles and tonal seating. There’s an industrial feel to it, but the oak and softer details keep it feeling warm and inviting. Nothing feels overworked, just a really good balance of materials, colour and texture. A few of our favourite details from Soho, all in one place. And if you’re in Jesmond, come and see us at the showroom.     There’s something rather lovely about seeing a space from different perspectives. From every angle, this kitchen has something to draw you in. From the beautiful framed cabinetry and generous island to the marble wrapping around the walls and those lovely little brass details, it’s a project we’ll certainly remember.     Every space considered. We like projects like this. They ask different questions. With more compact spaces, every decision matters a little more and so it should. The proportions, the storage, the flow through the room; everything has to work together without feeling overdesigned. The result is a kitchen that’s simple, functional and beautifully considered.
