Gary founded Mowlem and Co. over thirty years ago. With a wealth of knowledge in kitchen and furniture design he has developed a deep understanding of bespoke manufacture. After honing his skills with some of London’s leading design firms, he set out to create his own company, with a focus on timeless, functional spaces of the highest standard.

His dedication to quality and craftsmanship has shaped the company’s vision from the very beginning, and although recently he has adopted a more strategic, advisory role, he continues to inspire the team and take pride in seeing the next generation carry the business forward.

Gary Mowlem

Founder

Nikita graduated from Northumbria University with a BA (Hons) in Interior Design and soon began her career creating beautiful, functional spaces. Nikita combines her passion for interiors with a strong focus on client care, guiding each project from concept to completion.

As a Senior Project Co-Ordinator, she liaises with our clients, production team and fitters on a daily basis. Nikita takes great pride in managing projects, where she uses her knowledge and eye for detail to make sure every one runs smoothly from the sale to the installation and to our extremely high standards.

Outside of work, Nikita loves cooking, baking, and gardening, and is an avid traveller. With German roots, she also enjoys visiting family back in Germany whenever she can.

Nikita Malhotra

Senior Project Co-ordinator

Lois graduated from Northumbria University with a degree in Interior Design and joined Mowlem and Co. in 2020. Before joining the team, she worked in commercial interior design and project management, experience that provided a solid foundation for her work in bespoke residential design.

Since joining Mowlem, Lois has worked on a range of exciting projects — including Hoxton, Wiltshire, and Charlton — several of which have gone on to receive design nominations. Passionate about both interiors and aesthetics, she draws inspiration from fashion, art, and emerging design trends.

Outside of work, Lois recently purchased her first home and is enjoying the process of renovating it. She loves great food and drink, taking long walks along the coast, and spending time with her family’s dogs whenever she can.

Lois Riley

Senior Designer

Cassie graduated from Northumbria University with a degree in Fashion Marketing. After gaining experience in management roles across the fashion and property sectors, Cassie decided to return to her passion for marketing and joined Mowlem and Co. in 2024.

As Marketing Manager, Cassie oversees all aspects of the company’s marketing and communications from managing social media and website content to coordinating industry events and brand campaigns. Her role is all about ensuring Mowlem’s identity is consistent, engaging, and true to its values.

In her spare time, Cassie enjoys family life, cultural trips, local dining, and travel.

Cassie Walton

Rudi has brought his precision and exceptional eye for design to Mowlem and Co. for over 20 years. With clarity and efficiency, he has ensured every project runs smoothly while upholding the highest standards of design and craftsmanship. His thoughtful, methodical approach has also played a key role in the success and continued growth of the Mowlem and Co. Kings Road showroom.

Having now stepped back from day-to-day work, Rudi still continues to inspire the team and lend his expertise to special projects.

Rudi Luder

Director

Emma is a long-standing member of the Mowlem and Co. team and holds a BA (Hons) in Furniture and 3D Design. Working within a close-knit company has allowed her to take on a wonderfully varied role, from being hands-on in the design process and liaising directly with clients, to overseeing projects from concept through to completion. Throughout her time at Mowlem, Emma has built a reputation for professionalism and expertise, cultivating strong relationships with interior designers and other industry professionals, leading to hugely rewarding collaborations.

Outside of work, Emma loves spending time with her family, catching a good theatre show in London, and travelling to her family home in Spain whenever she gets the chance — always on the lookout for new design inspiration along the way.

Emma Wiseman

Senior Designer & Showroom Manager

James graduated with a BA (Hons) in Product Design and joined us in 2021 as a Designer. His background in bespoke joinery sparked a genuine interest in the materials and processes that go into crafting beautifully made cabinetry, an appreciation that continues to shape his design approach today.

Since joining Mowlem and Co, James’s role within the London showroom has evolved significantly. Starting out as a Designer, he was responsible for managing kitchen projects from concept through to installation. Now, as a Senior Designer, he works closely with some of Mowlem’s most discerning clients, including specialists within the interior design and architectural industries.

Outside of work, James is a keen sportsman and can often be found playing or watching football at the weekend. When he’s not involved in sport, he enjoys cooking for friends or discovering new pubs and restaurants across South London.

James Lambert

Senior Designer

Callum’s passion for design started at a young age and continued all the way through to university. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Product Design, he nearly pursued a career in engineering but instead followed his creative instincts and went on to complete a Master’s in Design in Oslo. His time in Norway proved pivotal, deepening his appreciation for furniture and interior design.

With Mowlem since the beginning of the year Callum has already played a key role in nurturing and expanding our exciting portfolio of work. With a keen eye for detail and a dedication to excellence, he thrives on bringing creativity and innovation to every project.

Outside of work, Callum enjoys cooking and tackling home renovation projects. He recently refaced his own kitchen and is currently working on building a window nook — complete with lift-up storage, bookshelves, and cupboards.

Callum Boyland

Designer

Workshop

After studying accountancy and working across a range of sectors, Gavin joined Mowlem and Co. in April 2006 as the companies accountant. Over time, his role evolved from running the finance department to overseeing operations, and in 2014 Gavin became Operations Director.

Today, Gavin oversees manufacturing, finance and logistics, ensuring every part of the business runs smoothly. His comprehensive understanding of the business and pragmatic approach makes him an integral part of Mowlem and Co’s continued growth and stability.

Outside work, Gavin has a passion for cooking especially outdoors with the family and is a geek at heart, enjoying strategy games, both electronic and board; all in between supporting his beloved Newcastle United as a proud season ticket holder.

Gavin Anderson

Operations Director

Dan completed a First-Class Honours degree in 3D Design at Northumbria University, specialising in furniture design. His early career included exhibiting at design shows across the UK and working for an award-winning landscape architecture practice before returning to his true passion — furniture design.

He joined Mowlem and Co. over 15 years ago and has since worked across multiple departments, from CNC and specification to his current position as Production Supervisor. In this role, Dan manages the production team and oversees projects from design through to dispatch, ensuring each one meets Mowlem’s exacting standards.

Outside of work, Dan enjoys cycling, running, and following Formula One — having attended several races across Europe.

Dan Battaglia

Production Supervisor

Rob graduated from Newcastle Polytechnic in 1988 with a degree in Furniture Design and Construction. His career has taken him through a range of design and manufacturing roles, from bespoke furniture maker to project manager. After working with several industry-leading firms, Rob first joined Mowlem and Co. as a cabinetmaker before moving into pharmaceutical production — and eventually returning to Mowlem once again.

As a Production Technician, Rob brings a wealth of hands-on experience and technical expertise to the team, helping transform creative designs into beautifully crafted pieces. Rob is a driving force in the team, known for his perfection, accuracy, and innovation as a Production Technician.

Outside of work, Rob has recently moved house, which keeps him busy with renovation projects. When he does find some free time, he enjoys getting outdoors to walk or cycle and explore the countryside.

Rob Johnson

Production Technician

Colin holds a 2:1 degree in Furniture and Product Design from Nottingham Trent University and has worked in interiors and kitchen design ever since graduating in 2001. He first joined Mowlem and Co. in 2013 and, after gaining further experience with other furniture and interior design firms, returned in 2022.

In his current role as Production Technician, Colin transforms creative designs into beautifully crafted furniture, producing technical drawings and cutting lists that bring each concept to life. He thrives on problem-solving, three-dimensional thinking, and attention to detail.

Colin is also an avid runner, a dedicated home cook, and a recent (though self-confessedly terrible) surfer, taking full advantage of living by the coast.

Colin Broatch

Production Technician

Karen brings a wealth of experience to Mowlem and Co, having spent 23 years at the University of Bradford in a variety of roles, ultimately serving as Support Manager to the Director of Estates & Facilities. During this time, she also completed her AAT Level 4 qualification — an achievement that continues to support her work today.

Karen joined Mowlem and Co. in February 2022, bringing her strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a practical, hands-on approach to the office.

Outside of work, Karen has a passion for adventure. She was the first ride coordinator for Queensbury Queens of the Mountain, an all-female, all-abilities cycling club, and enjoys walking or running with her Springer Spaniel, Tilly.

Steve Charker has been a cornerstone of Mowlem and Co. since the company began, bringing unparalleled dedication and a steadfast work ethic to every aspect of the operation. As Factory Foreman, Steve is the embodiment of discipline and organisation, ensuring that the factory runs smoothly and efficiently.

Known for his no-nonsense approach, he combines practical problem-solving with a deep understanding of production processes, earning the respect of colleagues and management alike. Steve’s commitment to excellence and his meticulous attention to detail have been instrumental in shaping the company’s high standards and continued success.
