About the Role // Luxury Kitchen & Interior Designer
This is a full-time, showroom-based position in Newcastle upon Tyne, offering hands-on experience across all stages of high-end residential design.
Key Responsibilities
As a Designer at Mowlem and Co. you will:
- Create detailed CAD and Vectorworks plans and elevations under the direction of a Senior Designer
- Assist Senior Designers on live luxury kitchen and interior projects
- Conduct site surveys and accurately translate measurements into CAD drawings
- Produce high-quality 3D visualisations using SketchUp and V-Ray
- Support with administrative duties including: writing professional client emails, ordering materials, liaising with suppliers, speaking with clients and answering showroom calls
Progress into:
- Taking detailed client briefs
- Presenting bespoke kitchen concepts
- Managing projects from initial design through to installation and completion
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a designer who combines technical precision with creative instinct. You should have a natural ability to curate colour palettes, textures, and materials, bringing spaces to life with your design flair. Strong spatial awareness and attention to detail are essential, along with a genuine interest in high-end interiors and luxury products. Confidence in communication is key, as you’ll be interacting with clients and collaborators regularly. Above all, you should be self-motivated, organised, and able to take initiative, managing tasks efficiently while contributing fresh ideas to every project.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Interior Design (BA Hons) Degree
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the design industry
- Strong working knowledge of CAD/ Vectorworks/SketchUp/V-Ray
