If you’re planning a bespoke kitchen, one of the first questions you’ll ask is, how long will it take?

The honest answer is that, from your first conversation with us to the day your kitchen is installed, most projects take between six and nine months. If you’re renovating or extending your home, it can be longer, as the kitchen is just one part of a wider programme of works.

The cabinetry itself is typically handcrafted in our Northumberland workshop over 10–12 weeks. However, long before production begins, time is spent designing the space, refining every detail, coordinating with architects and builders, and ensuring everything is ready for manufacture.

It may seem like a lengthy process, but every stage exists for a reason. A bespoke kitchen isn’t simply made; it’s carefully considered, designed around your home and crafted to last for decades.

The Initial Design

Weeks 1-4 // Whilst every project is unique, a bespoke kitchen generally follows a similar journey. Every project begins with a conversation. We take the time to understand your home, how you live and what you want the space to achieve. During these early meetings, we’ll explore layouts, materials, appliances and finishes, gradually developing a design that’s tailored entirely to you.

There’s rarely any rush. Some clients move through this stage in a matter of weeks, whilst others prefer to refine the design over a longer period of time.

Developing the Detail

Weeks 4-12 // Once the overall design has taken shape, attention turns to the finer details. Cabinet internals, worktops, lighting, appliances and finishes are all carefully considered, alongside technical drawings and site coordination. If you’re working with an architect or contractor, this is when we collaborate to ensure everything integrates seamlessly.

This stage is often overlooked, but it’s one of the most important. The more carefully a kitchen is resolved on paper, the smoother the installation will be.

Crafting Your Kitchen

Weeks 12-26 // Once the design has been signed off, your kitchen enters production. Every cabinet is made to order in our Northumberland workshop by our team of skilled cabinet makers. Unlike mass-produced kitchens, nothing is taken from stock. Each piece is built specifically for your home before being painted, assembled and quality checked.

Our typical manufacturing lead time is 12–14 weeks, although particularly large or complex projects may require longer.

The Final Stage: Installation

Once your cabinetry has been meticulously made in our workshop, it’s delivered to site and installed by our own experienced installation team.

Because our installers work closely with our designers and cabinet makers, they understand every detail of the project before they arrive on site. They liaise with your wider team where required, fitting each cabinet with the same level of care and precision that went into making it. Installation times vary depending on the size and complexity of the project, but throughout the process, your designer remains on hand to oversee the finer details and ensure everything is completed exactly as intended.

It’s the final stage of a carefully coordinated journey, bringing together months of thoughtful design, expert craftsmanship and meticulous planning to create a kitchen that’s built to be enjoyed for many years to come.

Every decision, from the overall layout to the internal storage, is made specifically for your home. Earlier than most people expect. Ideally, we’d recommend speaking to us as soon as you’re planning your renovation or extension often before building work has even begun. This allows the kitchen to be designed alongside the architecture of the home, gives plenty of time to refine the details and ensures the manufacturing schedule aligns with your project. The result is a calmer process, better coordination and, ultimately, a kitchen that’s worth waiting for.
