Although we are renowned for our kitchen design we have found that some of our clients are unaware of the other side to our joinery, elsewhere in the home. Our Mowlem and Co. designs often travel beyond the kitchen carrying our visual interpretation and creative language through the home. S T O R E
A Mowlem and Co. pantry can be designed with a specific use in mind – a cupboard with dedicated space for appliances or open shelving for more aesthetically pleasing pieces. A larder can also be designed as a more general storage space to store jars and bottles, that require easy access but enjoy a separate space close to the kitchen. A larder can often demand a larger space in our projects, and in this case can be walked up to as a sectioned area, or if space is limited a standing larder can also be an excellent way to store in a very pleasing manner. It may have very traditional roots but a well-stocked walk-in pantry has become a modern-day must-have.
D R E S S
A wonderful addition to any home is the luxuries of a walk in wardrobe. A genteel and pleasing space designed with bespoke cupboards to personalise storage and maximise space, perhaps incorporating pull-out trays for folded garments and pull-out surfaces for gathering accessories. A Mowlem and Co. dressing room might include cupboards with the addition of high storage, for seasonal pieces or kept more for keepsakes. The design innovations of all of our cupboards can be detailed to any particular want or desire and wardrobes and dressing rooms are particularly apt to take advantage of a high level of bespoke detailing, which we love.
T R A N S I T I O N
Those often overlooked ‘in-between’ spaces need not be an afterthought, but can become a useful and distinctive areas in their own right. A boot room in which muddy boots and wet coats are removed and stored can be designed to be as practical as it is lovely. With a need to be functional the design process might include discussion on the types of storage required and possibly the more practical design intentions for anything from golf clubs to soggy dogs! Many of the same design considerations from the rest of the home continue – storage, suitability of materials, and surfaces, but rest assured we can create the appropriate bespoke solution to every design challenge.

Our skills in kitchen-making also translate beautifully to any unique furnishing demands for the bathroom, be that a statement vanity unit, an ultra-stylish bath surround or a set of bookshelves to help while away any time spent. Like any room that requires consideration in the way you may utilise the space, the design specification for a bathroom can embrace a Mowlem and Co. sensibility while also accommodating the varied applications that the room demands.
